A Message From The Founder

My name is Chris Ver Burg, founder and President of Charleston Marine LLC.

My wife Jill and I started Charleston Marine in 2006 with one simple goal: to create a place where everyone felt comfortable stopping by — even if they were only looking for some friendly advice.

I was born and raised in Charleston and have been around boats my entire life. Over the years, I visited plenty of boat dealerships with simple questions and sometimes left feeling like I wasn’t really welcome unless I was there to buy one of the shiny new boats on display.

I wanted Charleston Marine to be different.

I wanted to build a place where customers felt comfortable bringing their kids, where they could send their wife in to pick something up, and know they would be greeted with a smile and treated with respect — whether they were buying a $6 gasket, a $10,000 outboard, or a million-dollar boat.

Nearly 20 years later, that is still what we expect from every member of our team.

I remain involved in the day-to-day operation of Charleston Marine and work alongside our crew every day. If you ever feel that you received anything less than the level of service and respect described above, I want to know about it personally.

Please feel free to call or text me directly at 843-486-2763, or email me at Chris@TeamCharlestonMarine.com.
